This spring Natalee's class learned about oviparous animals. They had a praying mantis egg, lady bug eggs, caterpillars, chicken and duck eggs. I learned that from one praying mantis egg comes 100-200 praying mantids. The kids had a blast watching all these creatures change and develop over the course of a few weeks. It was fun hearing the various names the children gave the chickens and ducks. Natalee class even had a chicken and duck play date. The kids loved it. They created a circle and put the chicks or ducks in the center and watch them have fun. It was the height of Natalee's day.
