Yoder's Family Picnic

So today was the family picnic at the Farm where we get our milk, eggs, and meat from. What fun. We went with good friends, Allison and her 2 children - Griffin and Paisely. Natalee had a wonderful time riding down there in their van she got to sit next to baby P which was alot of fun for her. She would talk to her and love her. Thank goodness she didn't wake her when she fell asleep. The picnic was just down the road a piece from the Yoder's house. The food was incredible. We have broast chicken, plus a smorgasbord of foods that other families brought. Such as sweet potato pancakes, sweet potato's, boil potato's, salads of all sorts and kinds, zucchini bread, varies cheeses and butters, bean dishes, frozen blueberries, brownies, cobbler, and more that I can't remember. We had milk, water, beet kvass, ginger beer and apple cider to drink. OMG that apple cider was to die for. Need to order some of that. We also have homemade ice cream - delish, Griffin and baby P loved it. I loved it - Nat wasn't so sure of it. They had a hay bale maze and tunnel for the littles to play in. We took a hay ride through the farm, say cows, laying hens, pet some laying hens. Natalee and Griffin went in the chicken bus' - they thought that was soo cool. Then we saw the pigs and finally the broilers. Natalee really wanted to pet the broilers but they were in bit cages so it wasn't easy. All in all a wonderful. We finally left the farm around 6:15 - a long day yes. The Nat was a dream child on the ride home - almost felt like we gave her some happy drug she was just singing up a storm and offering Grif various foods. Grif on the other hand was a very tired boy and was not happy for most of the trip home. When he finally got her blanket after we got off the highway he was a happy camper and fell fast asleep. At that point baby P was upset because we stopped and didn't get out. So Nat was trying to calm her down and say your mommy's right her, your okay, it's alright, baby P eat, -- to which I responded she probably wants mommy's milk - Nat's response was baby's milk - yes baby's milk - cow's milk - no cow's milk and so forth. It was just too cute. We transferred all our stuff into our car at Allison's home left to get gas and drive home. Nat feel asleep on the ride home - and much to my amazement I was successfully able to transfer her to her bed. Keep your fingers crossed that she sleeps through the night.

I can't wait for next years picnic - I hope Dave can attend - He'll love it.
