Block Party '08

Yesterday was our block party. This is the 3rd one since we have move here. Which is hard to believe. The day was warm and partly cloudy - the kids gathered for the bike parade which was our kick off at 4 pm. Everyone was in the parade - even kids under a year rode in wagons. Natalee had a blast. The bike parade was down to the circle and back to Georgetown but the littles only went down to the circle. In the circle we had a bounce house - which one of our neighbors got from a guy who he did work for this years. That was the crowning jewel and put to shame all the party games we had planned. We could hear some rumbling from the skies but it didn't look all that threatening. I went home to make the spinach, strawberry salad which my friend Allison suggested to do with all the strawberries I picked on Friday. Just as I was taking my salad down to the party the skies opened up. We all did a made dash putting food under tables, gathering kids and things that couldn't get wet and into garages. We stayed in garages for about 30 minutes or so before it got light enough to make plans and move the tables into a neighbors garage. We had the block party there. Thank you very much. Natalee had a blast playing in the rain, swimming pool and mud puddle and the bounce house again once the rain had stopped for a good long time.
