Bridging Ceremony

Yesterday was the Bridging or Moving up ceremony at Natalee's school. I wasn't sure if she was going to be part of the ceremony or not, especially since she is not going to attend there next year. School communication is not the best. So I was pleasantly surprised, teary eyed to watch this event unfold before my eyes. After they 8th graders were called up front where they announced they would be graduating last night, they called each level that would be moving up. The upper el moving to middle school, the lower el moving to upper el and the primary (kindergarteners) moving up to lower el. After each level was announced they moved to the chairs vacated by the previous level that had moved up. All very sweet and subtle.

We celebrated last night with pizza and ice cream with a candle on top.

First they are called to stand.

next they are escorted to the chairs vacated by the level that just moved up.

lastly they all walk out and form a corridor for the 8th graders to walk through.

Natalee with a friend standing the congratulatory line for 8th graders.

Our ice cream celebration last night all with a candle.
