Today was Nat's buddy's birthday. Griffin turned 3 today - so we went out to breakfast with mommy Allison, baby P, buddy Grif, and Tamara. We ate at the Original Pancake House in Westgate. Very tasty and the kids had alot of fun - especially Grif who was fascinated with going to the bathroom. Even by himself - where one of the big people would have to fun after him. So after breakfast we took a walk to Allison's car to drop off some bags before going to Target for Tamara to return something and for me to get Nat a new pool with her birthday money from Aunt Jessie. After putting things in Allison car - Nat announce she had to use the potty - so we made a mad dash for a restaurant - used the potty both kids and walked back to Tamara's car only for me to realize halfway back - I had lost my car keys - AGAIN!! Twice in a week. arrgggh. So I left Nat with group hi-tailed it back to the restaurant's bathroom and taa da they were there.
From there we walked to Target - Tamara returned her purchase - we attempt to find a pool no go. So after purchasing M&M's and hot wheels - we were off - only for me to realize again at Allison's car - that I had left my backpack with the kid occupier toys in it - in the cart at Target - so we all climbed in our cars - and drove to Target - where Tamara nicely went looking for it and no one had turned it in yet. (NB someone eventually did - cuz Dave stopped there on his way home and got it.) YEAH!!!
After a brief stop at BK for snacks for the hungry one's - since breakfast didn't feel them up. And no it was just the kids - we were off to the Metropark in Rocky River - to investigate their Nature Center. Cool fun place, lot's of rockers, a few snacks, and turtles - nothing like LENSC in Bay Village but had a cool tree model you could play in - and a turtle shell little ones could climb into. In fact this tree made you feel like twice the size of an acorn - what a perspective. After playing inside - we decide to take a hike - look frogs, skater bugs, throw sticks in the water, you know fun stuff that kid's like to do. About 20 minutes into our walk it started to rain again - not hard just light stuff so we continued on - the tree canopy kept us dry. It then got a little hard and you guessed it harder yet. So we decide since the Fairies had started to bowl (Nat says the fairies are bowling not Angels - even though we started with Angels. ) we thought it probably was best to get all the kid's and adults back to the Nature Center. Needless to say - we got soaked. Nat's underwear and dress were drenched- her shoe's sopping wet and my clothes too. If we were wearing white t-shirts - the adults could have been in a wet t-shirt contest. Lucky for us we weren't. After getting back to the Nature Center we went to the bathroom to attempt to dry off - no such luck. So we just eventually walked back to the car's - and lucky for the Grif and Nat since they are in the early stages of potty learning - they had dry clothes to change into. The rest of us just had stay wet till we got home.
But I have to say it was a fun day. I think Grif and I know Nat had a ball.
